Set in an 1860’s Georgian townhouse, this London apartment has been designed by ARCHITECTURE FOR LONDON to be clean and modern, while retaining many original period details. The project reconfigures a first floor apartment to provide an open plan kitchen in the living room allowing for the creation of an additional bedroom. The damaged original floorboards have also been sanded and soap stained to restore their original attractiveness. In the kitchen, a Carrara marble tabletop and backsplash match the antique-style fireplaces on the opposite side of the room. The bathroom has beautiful herringbone tiled walls and underfloor heating with fog-free mirrors.
