3D printed smart home

Prefab houses are becoming more and more popular because they are so easy to build and the cost is not too high. A 3D printed prefabricated smart home with off-grid functionality has been delivered, offering buyers the opportunity to live anywhere. The house model is a fully autonomous unit with the option to run entirely on solar power.

Haus.me has been experimenting with fully autonomous, off-grid mobile homes since its inception in 2016. The company has developed a patented polymer composite insulation that can be 3D printed into a construction material for building walls. Combined with the company’s six paneled windows, the prefabricated units can save buyers thousands of dollars in annual energy costs.

The home does not require grid electricity, propane, natural gas, firewood or any other fuel. Instead, solar energy is used for heating, cooling and electricity, working in both hot and cold climates. Each model is equipped with remote-controlled intelligent systems, high-tech gadgets and built-in furniture. There is also an air-water generator connected to a purification system, as well as a bioactive sewage system to treat black water.

The design comes in three models – the 400-square-foot one-story house, an 800-square-foot two-bedroom house; and the mFour, a 1,600-square-foot model spread over two floors with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Customers can personalize the base on-grid model to include off-grid technologies.
