Architecture and interior design practice Reutov Design has proposed a colorful, Mexican-inspired apartment in New York City. Decorated with terracotta pinks and greens, the interior feels out of this world, where designer furniture meets a landscape steeped in cactus. The owners of the apartment are a young couple who commissioned Reutov Design to design the apartment. This apartment is an opportunity to forget about everyday life and help you take a break from the noisy metropolis.
Guests are greeted by a pastel green door that opens onto a two-toned interior composed primarily of green and pink – green for the floor and some pillars, while pink is used on the walls and ceiling. The softness of these two pastel shades is reflected in the furniture, which mainly consists of bulbous shapes. From the bubbly green Roche Bobois sofa to the minimal lamps, the design of this apartment takes every single detail into account. Terrazzo counters and gradient walls are other design elements that make up the space.
One of the most important elements in the interior are the cacti. This is a cosmic plant with a unique design. The cacti are in all sizes and types in planters and in pictures in the apartment. From the entrance through the kitchen to the bedroom, these plants are the protagonists of the design. All cacti are different. Each has its own shape, its own shadow. In a creative interpretation, the designers depicted a cactus in the form of columns. They have different colors and shapes, chaotic in the most unpredictable places, just like in natural landscapes. Check out this unusual and bold apartment and get inspired!
