Modern retro and mid-century styles are very popular for home decor these days: they’re very cozy and welcoming and bright. If you’re looking for ways to make your home retro, I’ve got a few cool and easy ways to do it. Interested? Scroll down to see all!
Bright colors
A trend towards neutral colors in interior design doesn’t work for retro houses: you should definitely switch on the colors! Don’t be afraid to mix and match bold shades and mix them in different ways, even if they are opposite! When working with color, you should also consider patterns. Having the swatches will further enhance your most used hues in the room.
Black and white tiles
The 1970s saw an increase in black and white tiles. The checkered floor offers a bright display with a response from guests from the 70’s, grandma’s kitchen and/or both, the perfect blend of openness and just the right touch of colour. Now you can add these large format black and white tiles to any room to give the room a retro feel! Such floors can be added not only to kitchens to make them feel retro, but also to other rooms – entryways, bathrooms and others.
Bold wallpaper
The bold wallpaper trend comes straight from retro style! Imagine a repeating pattern that gives the room a flowing aspect. This allows you to work with the size of the room without sacrificing the style already in place. Adding wallpaper is not only done in living rooms or bedrooms, but also in unexpected spaces like bathrooms.
